As a closeted gay child who later became disabled, faith has never been simple for me, and watching Christians invoke Christ's name while ignoring the most vulnerable has only deepened that grief. This piece is for everyone whose belief has been shaken, not by God, but by the people who claim to speak for him. And yet what has carried me through every unraveling are the ones who showed up without condition, loved well, and helped my unbelief.
